FerroNATS partners with Airways New Zealand on air traffic controller training course at Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico

Alberto Varela, Head of Training at FerroNATS, will be at the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico as an instructor until September

Alberto Varela, Head of Training at FerroNATS and Tower Manager at Cuatro Vientos (Madrid), will be at the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico (UIPR) as an instructor between June and September. During this time, he will train aspiring air traffic controllers at the university during their theory and practical studies, which will take place in the simulator. His visit to Latin America forms part of the agreement signed in October between the Spanish company and Airways New Zealand.

Under the agreement, FerroNATS will provide instructors, examiners and consultancy services for the course of study offered to air traffic controllers promoted by Airways New Zealand at the Universidad Interamericana of Puerto Rico (UIPR).

Alberto Varela has over 20 years of experience in air traffic control services on his curriculum vitae. During his professional career he has provided services at various control towers for a wide range of different airports. His experience as a civilian and military air traffic controller gives him the perfect profile for training future air traffic controllers and giving them the knowledge they need to work in various situations.

He was accompanied during the first weeks of his visit by Macarena Tato, Head of Instructor and air traffic controller at Cuatro Vientos. Macarena Tato helped Alberto Varela prepare the necessary documentation before starting to train future air traffic controllers.
