FerroNATS operations began in Jerez Control Tower

The 5th of March FerroNATS began its operations of the air traffic control tower in Jerez Airport, becoming the fifth Spanish airport which complete the liberalization process.

The first operation of the new Control Tower managed by FerroNATS took place at 08.36 pm last Tuesday, coinciding with the landing of an Iberia Express flight from Madrid.

The Tower of Jerez began the transition period in the middle of June 2012. The air-traffic controllers will attend a daily average of 106 operations, including arrivals and departures of commercial flights and general aviation.

In 2012, Jerez airport handled 913,301 passengers, 38,697 flight operations and 33 tonnes of cargo. Also, from 1993, the airport has seen a significant increase in its international traffic, for the most part charter, being Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom the main origin and destination countries.

FerroNATS begin providing services throughout this year, in the Control Towers of La Coruña, Sevilla, Valencia, Ibiza and Alicante.
